Wine lovers have until July 7th to revel in the Obertshauser Wine Festival!
The 16th Obertshausen Wine Festival has officially begun in Offenbach, Germany, attracting a large crowd despite the summer heat. This annual event, held near a castle in the Hain, promises a week of wine tasting, live music, and socialising.
The festival's musical lineup is diverse and exciting, with Stereo Coffee performing on Wednesday, followed by a series of artists including Melly, Mimo, Doctor Blond, Eine Band namens Wanda, The Brankas, and Chic alias Norbert Heil, who will close the festival on Monday. Regional artists will also entertain the crowds on the MAINGAU stage.
The culinary offer at the festival is equally enticing, with a variety of dishes and wines on offer. Visitors can sample Flammkuchen, Raclette, Bratwurst, fish specialties, and wines from various regions.
The festival grounds offer ample space for meetings, conversations, and enjoyable hours, making it a perfect spot for a social gathering.
Notable attendees at the opening ceremony included the German Wine Queen Charlotte Weihl, Mayor Manuel Friedrich, and co-organizer Jürgen Krapp. As a memento of her visit, the Wine Queen received a bag from Obertshausen-based company Picard Lederwaren.
Charlotte Weihl emphasised the importance of wine culture and the diversity of regional wines at the opening.
The festival is open daily from 5 pm to 11 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays until midnight.
