Wine Festival of Obertshausen commences on 1st July, 2025
Uncensored Article:
Get ready for the 16th Obertshausen Wine Festival, happening from July 1st through 7th at the festival site at the Burg im Hain! The kick-off, on Tuesday, July 1st at 7 pm, will be led by the current German Wine Queen Charlotte Weihl and Mayor Manuel Friedrich on the Maingau stage.
This year's theme, "Wine is Art in a Bottle", highlights the organizers' stance on wine-making as an artistic unfolding, from vine care to sensory exploration in the glass. They aim to enthrall both wine aficionados and neophytes of German wine.
The festival will feature a live music program on all event days, with bands such as Doctor Blond, Eine Band namens Wanda, and Toni & Mimo. You'll also get to witness The Brankas perform for the first time on Sunday, July 6th. The festival runs daily from 5 pm to 11 pm, extending until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Mayor Friedrich expressed gratitude to the Karl Mayer company's management and staff for providing the location for the wine festival and to Maingau Energy for their generous sponsorship.
Apart from an array of wines, including those from Pfalz winemakers, the festival will present a medley of dishes like grilled specialties, fish, pretzels, raclette, and Flammkuchen—all designed to be paired with appropriate wines.
Jürgen Hofmann from the event management of the Fachbereich Sport, Kultur und Bildung invites you to join the festivities: "So if you're looking for a good time and hope the weather cooperates, you know where to find us!"
