Volunteer Benefits are Extended through the Offered Card
Volunteer Card Offers Discounts and Rewards in Marburg-Biedenkopf District
The Marburg-Biedenkopf district and the University Town of Marburg are offering a Volunteer Card to recognise and reward individuals who have been actively local volunteering for at least three years, or holders of the Youth Leader Card are exempt from this requirement.
Over 20,000 engaged people in Hesse have already received the E-Card, which provides access to over 1,700 discounts statewide. The card is valid for three years and can be renewed thereafter.
Citizens from the Marburg-Biedenkopf district can apply for their card through the Fachdienst Partizipation, Ehrenamt und Sport of the district, while volunteers living in the city of Marburg can apply through the city. Interested parties can obtain information about the application process for both the city and the district by contacting the provided phone numbers or emails. The application can also be downloaded from the website www.ehrenamt.marburg-biedenkopf.de under the heading "Volunteer Card."
The Volunteer Card offers numerous discounts, including free admission or reduced prices for various events and facilities in the cities and communities of the district. Some examples include a visit to the Botanical Garden or the Cineplex Cinema, as well as free or reduced admission to leisure pools and Man City home games. OBI stores in Biedenkopf, Gladenbach, and Marburg also provide a 10% discount on their products for Volunteer Card holders.
Organizations that can apply for the Volunteer Card in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district and the university city of Marburg include non-profit, charitable, and volunteer organisations active in the region.
The Volunteer Cards are traditionally presented twice a year, with the next event planned for Thursday, December 4, 2025. Recipients of the Volunteer Card will be personally informed about the details of the planned event.
