Vibrant Eye-Adorned Graffiti Unveiled at Arnsberg Train Station

In the heart of Arnsberg, a vibrant transformation is taking place. The city, known for its rich history and cultural heritage, is now adorned with two new pieces of street art, thanks to a series of graffiti workshops organised by the Family Office.

The workshops, held near the train station, aimed to teach participants the right technique, safety measures, and responsible handling of spray cans. The focus was on creating artworks that would serve as an optical enrichment for the area.

One of the projects saw a 32 x 4 meter wall area at the train station come to life with an image related to the fire department and Arnsberg. The other project involved a WC container next to the station, which was given a fresh coat of paint with a design inspired by Arnsberg landmarks. Both projects were funded by the Cultural Office of the city, and the participants included members of the youth fire brigade and other interested parties.

The WC container project was a collaboration between the Family Office, the local youth fire brigade, and the Arnsberg Fire History Association. The artworks were sprayed under the guidance of the Sprühduo, a duo of experienced graffiti artists from Soest. Six participants worked tirelessly on the container, creating a unique piece that was later thanked in a special way by the city administration.

The project at the Fire Museum "Brennpunkt" was equally impressive. Sixteen children and young people, under the guidance of the Sprühduo, designed the outer wall of the museum. The style and color scheme of the artwork are reminiscent of the WC container, creating a cohesive look for the area. As part of the project, participants were also offered a tour of the hands-on museum "Brennpunkt".

The participants were not only given the opportunity to create public art but also took home their own creations, as they could spray artworks on paper and canvas during the workshops. The catering during the workshops was provided by the Arnsberg Fire History Association, adding a touch of local flavour to the event.

These community graffiti projects are not just about creating art; they are about engaging local artists and residents in creative expression that reflects the city's history and cultural heritage. They foster cultural enrichment, beautification, and awareness, making Arnsberg a more vibrant and exciting place for its residents and visitors alike.
