In Lünen, Germany, on September 1, 2025, an incident unfolded that led to the arrest of two suspects following a police traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was wanted for driving under the influence, resisting authorities, and driving without a valid license.

The incident began when officers stopped a VW Touran on Bebelstraße, at the junction with Derner Straße, after noticing erratic driving. Upon approaching the car, officers detected a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the 44-year-old driver from Dortmund. Initial investigations revealed that he did not possess a valid driver's license.

As the officers attempted to conduct their duties, the man became increasingly aggressive. He was put in handcuffs and placed in a patrol car, but not before kicking the seats and resisting the officers. His 48-year-old partner, who was also in the car, was present during the altercation. Inside the vehicle, officers also found the man's teenage daughter and another couple.

The woman, the 44-year-old man's partner, became confrontational, positioning herself in front of the patrol car and shouting loudly. She also filmed the officers and attempted to open the door of the patrol car. Despite being issued a dispersal order, she did not comply and was arrested.

A voluntary breath test was attempted on the 44-year-old man, but he did not blow hard enough into the tube. A blood test was ordered, and a doctor took a sample at the police station. The man was subsequently taken to the central police custody facility.

Following the incident, officers had a lot of reports to write and complete the necessary procedures. The other three occupants of the VW were allowed to continue their journey after these processes were completed.

Two people were taken into police custody as a result of the incident, marking another day in the ongoing efforts to ensure road safety and maintain order in Lünen, Germany.
