On a sunny June day, the Diepenpark Playground in Düsseldorf was bustling with excitement as it celebrated its 25th anniversary. The event was marked by a colourful festival, attracting numerous visitors, including Mayor Josef Hinkel and Youth Office Director Stephan Glaremin.

The day was filled with various activities, such as face painting, a magician, soap bubbles, games, and free pony rides. The riding school in Diepenpark even offered these popular pony rides, attracting a long line of children. For the artsy ones, face painting was particularly popular among the girls.

The anniversary celebration was a testament to the hard work and dedication of Petra Sobotka, the founder of the Diepenpark Playground Initiative, who was honoured with flowers and certificates for her 25 years of service. Her creation, the "Conrad", which symbolises containers and wheels, made a surprise appearance in life-size form on the day.

The Diepenpark Playground Initiative has undergone significant changes since its establishment. One of the significant steps was the acquisition of a games container, which now houses many slide vehicles, play equipment, brooms, and buckets, ensuring the playground remains child-friendly, lively, attractive, and safe.

Through playground sponsorships, these areas continue to be maintained by 173 patrons, including school classes, clubs, initiatives, parents, and grandparents. The patrons also collect suggestions for new play ideas for children and pass them on.

The Initiative's efforts have not gone unnoticed. Pro Düsseldorf awarded the Diepenpark Playground Initiative the golden broom for its cleaning efforts. The Initiative's dedication to cleanliness was further displayed during the annual "Dreck weg Tag" (Clean Up Day), an important event in maintaining the playground.

Wolfgang Harisch, the barrel organ player, was also honoured with a golden "Conrad" for his contributions to the playground. Numerous representatives from politics and the local neighborhood association were present at the anniversary celebration, showing their support for the Initiative.

Among the honourees was Angelika Penack-Bielor, a long-time supporter of the playground initiative, who was honoured with a golden "Conrad" on Sunday. The day was a celebration of community spirit, dedication, and the power of a playground to bring people together.

The Diepenpark Playground Initiative, known for its impact on home-and-garden life, showcased its 25-year legacy through various activities, attracting everyone from politicians to children. This lifestyle event was marked by the appearance of a life-sized "Conrad", symbolizing containers and wheels, reflecting the Initiative's significant changes over the years, such as the acquisition of a games container.
