The Four Seasons Hotel Milano, the Canadian luxury hotel brand's first outpost in continental Europe, has undergone an exquisite transformation. Renowned designers Patricia Urquiola and Ron Gilad, in collaboration with Pierre-Yves Rochon, have breathed new life into the historic building, originally a 15th-century convent.

Located in the 'Golden Rectangle' shopping district of Milan, the hotel now boasts stylish studio apartment-like rooms, each with a unique layout and design. Rochon's design concept was inspired by the historic building's original features, aiming to evoke the same excitement as designers who attend the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

The Renaissance Suite, one of the hotel's standout spaces, is dressed in shades of pale grey and white. Its elaborately decorated ceiling, reminiscent of the hotel's entrance fresco, is a testament to the centuries-old craftsmanship. Rochon mirrored the garden's verdant geometry with touches of green throughout the suite, including upholstered dining chairs and an oval-shaped floral painting with gilt edges.

Another notable suite is the Fresco Suite, whose colour palette subtly echoes the yellow and peach tones of the fresco found in the hotel's entranceway. The suite's pièce de résistance is the hand-painted fresco on its ceiling, completed by Giocondo Albertolli in the 18th century.

The Murano Suite and the Lombardy Suite, also designed by Urquiola and Gilad, showcase traditional decorative motifs that have been admired for centuries. Rochon collaborated with Venetian textile house Rubelli for the upholstery in sky blue and terracotta colors, and design brand Poliform for custom bookshelves and brass-trimmed wooden tables.

In designing the spaces, Rochon kept in mind Milan's status as the world's design capital. The Four Seasons Hotel Milano, with its blend of historic charm and modern elegance, is a testament to this city's enduring influence on the global design scene.

The Four Seasons Hotel Milano is situated at Via Gesù, 6-8, 20121 Milan, Italy. Whether you're a design enthusiast or simply seeking a luxurious stay in the heart of Milan, this hotel promises an unforgettable experience.
