Regional garden exhibition is being arranged in Neuss
Get ready for an unforgettable summer in 2026 as Neuss, Germany, prepares to host the Landesgartenschau. This major horticultural and cultural event is set to take place from April 16 to October 11, 2026.
As part of the Landesgartenschau, Neuss is undergoing significant urban development and transformation. The heart of the event will be the 38-hectare former racetrack, which will be transformed into a Bürgerpark (citizens' park), creating a green heart in the city. This park will integrate cultural heritage, such as a pavilion dedicated to the local Schützenfest tradition.
One of the key attractions will be the renovated Wetthalle, which will serve as a lively event venue during and after the Landesgartenschau. The renovation includes a modern roof, ventilation, kitchen, and accessible outdoor areas designed for year-round community use.
The event program promises a diverse array of cultural events, including concerts (such as those by Gregor Meyle), exhibitions, and social activities. These events aim to enhance Neuss’s cultural offer and attract visitors to the city throughout the event period.
The Landesgartenschau is expected to significantly stimulate Neuss’s urban development. It will improve green spaces, revitalize historic buildings, expand cultural infrastructure, and boost tourism and local economy through a sustained calendar of diverse events.
The city of Neuss will receive a state grant in the millions for the Landesgartenschau 2026. A representative survey in January 2022 showed that 77 percent of the Neuss population support the application.
