Record-breaking milestone achieved: 100,000 trips on the recently installed elevator
In the heart of Kansas City, the city's newest attraction, the elevator at Schlossufer, reached a significant milestone today. Stacy Kuhn, an employee of the state's castles and gardens administration, became the 100,000th passenger to ride the elevator since its opening on January 14, 2025.
Mayor Jürgen Herzing and Annette Schroeder-Rupp, head of the department for high-rise and building management, were present to mark the occasion. The architectural masterpiece, designed by Büro Hildebrand and constructed by Karl J. Mayer Bauunternehmung, has been a resounding success, making access to Schlossufer easier and contributing to making the city more livable.
Kansas City has become more barrier-free due to the new elevator, and Mayor Herzing believes it to be a significant improvement for the city. He expressed his delight, stating that the elevator operates smoothly and has been a resounding success.
To celebrate Kuhn's milestone ride, she was presented with a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of Pompejaner, and two theater tickets. The occasion was also marked by the presence of Schroeder-Rupp and Mayor Herzing, who were photographed during the celebration.
