In the world of fashion, Paco Rabanne's S/S 2025 collection is causing quite a stir. The collection, under the creative direction of Julian Dossena, introduces two intriguing handbags that are set to redefine luxury.

One of these is the 'world's most expensive bag', a gilded accessory that pays homage to Paco Rabanne's iconic gold-and-diamond-adorned dress created for house muse Françoise Hardy in 1968. Contrary to speculation, this exquisite piece does not feature materials like chainmail, leather, hand-blown Murano glass, or gleaming gold coins. Instead, it is an ode to a historic design piece from Rabanne's past.

The 'world's most expensive bag' is not the only novelty in the S/S 2025 collection. The collection also sees the reimagining of the '1969' bag, originally inspired by French butcher's aprons. In this new iteration, the bag is crafted from a variety of materials other than its traditional chainmail and leather, with one version featuring gleaming gold coins made by French medal-makers Maison Arthus Bertrand.

Meanwhile, the 'Paco' bag, inspired by Rabanne's seminal '1969' chainmail bag, offers a more practical solution for modern shoppers. This new handbag boasts a built-in weatherproof feature in the form of a futuristic transparent plastic case, ensuring that your belongings remain dry even in the rain.

Interestingly, while the Avenue Montaigne in Paris provides clear plastic overlays to shoppers during rain to protect their purchases, the 'Paco' bag does not share this feature. The 'Paco' bag is made of disks of leather, a departure from the clear plastic overlays.

The S/S 2025 collection by Paco Rabanne is a testament to the brand's enduring innovation and commitment to pushing the boundaries of fashion. Whether it's the 'world's most expensive bag' or the 'Paco' bag, each piece in the collection is a statement of style and a celebration of Paco Rabanne's rich design heritage.
