Preparing LandArt Sculpture in Bissendorf-Schledehausen for 2024

In the picturesque town of Bissendorf, Germany, preparations are underway for the much-anticipated LandArt Schledehausen event, set to take place on July 20th and 21st, 2024. This annual art extravaganza, which began in 2002 with just 14 exhibitors, has since grown to become a significant regional cultural attraction.

This year, visitors can look forward to over 110 exhibitors, showcasing an unprecedented abundance of colors, shapes, sounds, and scents. The event will feature contemporary artists creating and displaying site-specific land art and sculptures in the natural landscape of the Schledehausen estate, providing an immersive cultural experience that blends art with nature.

The event organizing team, led by Katharina Brückner, Iris Peters, and Sabine Dörmann, has worked tirelessly to ensure a diverse and engaging programme. New additions to the event include the Wendehammer at Parkstraße and the Kurpark, reachable via a small footpath between the playground and the mini-golf course.

A highlight of this year's event will be the sale of massive wooden stars with poems by Christian Morgenstern, with proceeds benefiting the DKMS. The sale aims to raise funds for a worthy cause, further enriching the event's social impact.

The municipality of Bissendorf has taken a more active role in LandArt Schledehausen, focusing on social themes. A Syrian family from Bissendorf will be involved, offering local desserts, while the THW youth invites young and old to various interactive activities at the Kurpark.

Other participants include the Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Schledehausen, Landfrauen Schledehausen, Sportfreunde Schledehausen, Heimat- und Wanderverein Bissendorf, the support association of the volunteer fire brigade Schledehausen, and Weinhaus Böttger.

For those concerned about logistics, three large parking lots in Schledehausen will be available during LandArt Schledehausen, and a free shuttle service will run to and from the event site.

Music lovers will be delighted to know that "The Royal Squeeze Box" duo will be performing at the event, offering floral arrangements, long drinks and cocktails, oriental food, Italian ice cream, and "Curly Crumbles". Additionally, the DRK Bissendorf will present the Sozio-Med-Mobile and its driving services.

LandArt Schledehausen is known for its well-groomed private gardens, public places, decorated streets, handmade arts and crafts, street music, and local food and drinks. This year promises to be no exception, with the event's external stations, such as churches and the Wamhof, joining in to make it a truly community-led celebration.
