Bumbershoot 2025: A Family-Friendly Celebration of Music, Arts, and Fun in Seattle
Get ready for a summer tradition that caters to all ages! Bumbershoot 2025, taking place at Seattle Center from August 30-31, offers a diverse lineup of entertainment that includes live music, comedy, spoken word, dance, and family-friendly performances.
For the younger visitors, the daytime festival atmosphere is a highlight, with specific performances and activations like the Cat Circus by Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. This family-friendly event features animal performances suitable for children and families. Other interactive shows appropriate for all ages can be found throughout the festival.
The festival's location, nestled near the Seattle Children's Museum and Pacific Science Center, adds extra value for families planning to visit. During the festival days, families can enjoy a variety of food vendors offering kid-friendly options, such as Japanese-style soft serve ice cream from Indigo Cow and fusion tacos.
While the Comedy Coop may be more geared towards adults, families may want to avoid it. Children 12 and younger are free, but still require a ticket.
Bumbershoot offers various themed areas for attendees to explore, such as the Recess District, Fashion District, and Geodesic dome program. The Recess District features activities like Bumbermania! Wrestling Program, aerial and acrobatic performances, skateboarding, roller-skating, and workshops for kids. The Fashion District hosts the High Fashion High showcase and a beauty salon and fashion marketplace. Geodesic domes throughout the festival grounds offer micro-programs, including the Cat Circus.
Outside food and drink are not allowed at Bumbershoot, and re-entry isn't allowed either, so attendees should plan to purchase food from the hundreds of options available at the festival. More details can be found on Bumbershoot's FAQ page.
Single day tickets cost $125, weekend passes are $150, and the deluxe package is $350. The music lineup for Bumbershoot 2025 includes Weezer, Car Seat Headrest, Aurora, Janelle Monáe, Bright Eyes, Digable Planets, and Saba. Bumbershoot happens rain or shine, but unless you purchase the deluxe package, there is no re-entry allowed.
Indoor facilities all have ADA access, and The Armory has accommodations for diaper changes. Restrooms can be found in all indoor venue locations and outdoor port-a-potties.
To avoid traffic and parking hassles, consider taking public transit, the Monorail, or biking. For additional tips, head to Seattle Center's getting here page. Bumbershoot takes place at Seattle Center, located at 305 Harrison St. in Seattle.
