Old train station building transformed into a café called HerzGlück, providing an inclusive ambiance and delightful experiences
On October 4, 2024, the historic train station building in Obertshausen will welcome a new addition – Café HerzGlück, a vibrant and inclusive establishment run by the Lebensräume Rehabilitation Society.
Mayor Manuel Friedrich has commended the innovative approach of Lebensräume, expressing his support and wishing the team success. The café's mission is to be a place for everyone, where no one is excluded, neither employees nor visitors.
Claudia Graf, the project manager, oversees the café's operations. She emphasises the café's commitment to providing opportunities for people to participate in working life, accommodating personal needs. People with and without disabilities will work together at the café, performing tasks according to their individual abilities.
Café HerzGlück offers a cozy atmosphere for working, with strong Wi-Fi available in the back area. The café's menu features a selection of regional and biological dishes, including homemade bread, salads, bowls, and a daily changing lunch dish. The café sources its food locally, with bread and eggs coming from the organic market 'Die Karotte' in Obertshausen, and Picard butcher and Langmaak fruit and vegetables being other suppliers.
The colorful design of the café is enhanced by artworks from local artists that change every three months. The Saturday and Sunday brunch is likely to be particularly popular.

Café HerzGlück will commence operations at Bruhlstraße from October 4. The café's new opening hours are: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 8 PM, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Lebensräume is also pursuing a project named 'TeilSein' for exploring new paths of integration and inclusion. We look forward to experiencing this unique café and its contributions to the community.
