Nine-day long festivities of Libori take place in Paderborn
The much-anticipated Libori Festival is set to take place in Paderborn, Germany from July 26th to August 3rd. This nine-day event, a significant fixture in the city's calendar, blends religious ceremonies, a vibrant funfair, and a rich cultural programme.
The festivities will unfold at the Kulturbrunnen stage, while the fairground at Libori Hill, spanning 1.6 kilometres, will be a thrilling hub of rides like the "Europa-Rad", "Excalibur", and "Mama Caramba". For those seeking a bird's eye view of the Sparkassen-Musik-Feuerwerk, viewing points can be found at [www.libori.de/feuerwerk].
Mayor Michael Dreier will make his final keg tapping appearance at the "Paderborner Almhütte" festival tent, marking a traditional moment in the festival's proceedings.
Headphone parties will be held at the Platz der kleinen Künste, and the festival will conclude with the Sparkassen-Musik-Feuerwerk on Sunday, August 3rd, with Radio Hochstift providing the music.
Over 140 stalls will be set up at the Pottmarkt, offering a variety of pottery, knives, household items, clothing, and culinary delights. The Libori Lounge will be located at the Juhenplatz, and international specialties will be available at the "Plaza Europa".
Classic rides such as the Music Express, Auto Skooter, and children's carousels will also be part of the fairground attractions.
In line with the festival's rich history, the event will commence with the elevation of the Golden Shrine and salute shots in front of the town hall. Sunday shopping hours in the city centre during the Libori Festival will be from 13:00 to 18:00.
Given the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the specific format and schedule of events for the 2020 festival may have been influenced. For detailed historical information about the festival's cultural program, one might consult archived official festival websites or local Paderborn tourism resources.
