Nightlife at LIV reaches new heights with the introduction of an enhanced, vibrant sound system.
In a move to elevate the nightlife experience, LIV at Fontainebleau Miami Beach has recently installed the L-Acoustics L Series loudspeaker system, making it the world's first nightclub to integrate the industry-standard sound system.
The 1,000-capacity, two-story venue, spanning over 18,000-square-feet, is renowned for its bright lighting, soaring projection-mapped stage area, and an iconic dome with more than 400 video screens, affectionately referred to as "The Spider." Now, with the addition of the L-Acoustics L Series, LIV is set to offer guests and performers a professional sound system on par with top music festivals' PA systems.
David Grutman, a representative of LIV, stated that the aim was to provide an unparalleled audio experience, one that would meet the expectations of top-tier artists, DJs, and clientele who frequent the venue. Max Moussier, LIV's technical director and product manager, added that the choice of the L Series system design was an easy one due to its compact format and clean lines.
The new sound design features four hangs of L-Acoustics L2D enclosures, each positioned above a corner of the main dancefloor area. Two of the hangs serve as main left and right arrays flanking the DJ performance area, while two more border the main stage/lounge. Six X12 are flown over the six VIP skyboxes overlooking the dancefloor, and four more KS28 are mounted into the DJ platform to provide low-frequency reinforcement.
The system is efficiently powered by LA7.16i amplified controllers, ensuring consistent sound throughout the space. Two LA4X-powered coaxial X8 enclosures are flush-mounted into the wall above the KS28 for a DJ system front-fill.
Moussier emphasized that the new system was designed to minimize distraction to the architectural and visual elements of the venue, while still offering an earth-shaking, yet articulate and crisp sound, ideal for the electronic dance music genre.
