Title: Gear Up for Pfingsten: Munich's Mountain Bus Brings Fresh Updates and Expanded Services!

With the Pfingsten holidays around the corner, it's high time for adventure-seekers to pack their bags and hop onboard the refurbished Munich Mountain Bus! This season, hikers and day-trippers can enjoy extended service beyond weekends, as the bus now operates on public holidays too.

The Munich Transport Association (MVV) announced that hikers from the city can bag a free ride to the Alps with the Germany ticket. For those without the Germany ticket, standard MVV fares apply.

This season, the bus lines boast an improved schedule, running from the beginning of Pfingsten holidays until the All Saints' Day weekend in early November. Don't worry about getting lost; passenger information has been beefed up for hassle-free travel.

Looking for some top destinations? Pfronten in Ostallgäu, Bayrischzell, and Thiersee in Tyrol are a few hotspots that you might want to check out. Each line offers a pair of round trips every day. And, the cherry on top? You can reserve your seat in advance, free of charge, using the booking tool in the MVV app.

The Munich Mountain Bus has been part of the MVV family since last year, following a pilot project launched by the German Alpine Association in 2021. Funding comes from the city of Munich, the districts of Miesbach and Ostallgäu, and the Free State, which covers any uncovered operating costs not annotated by ticket sales.

Last season, around 7,000 day-trippers reveled in the mountainous scenery, exploring destinations such as the Tegelbergbahn near the ever-impressive Neuschwanstein Castle and the Gasthof Bäckeralm, nestled near the Austrian border.

Ready to hit the road? While the exact date for this season's start isn't set in stone yet, historical data indicates that mountain bus services to places like Tegernsee, Schliersee, or popular hiking areas around Munich usually commence in late May or early June. To get the most recent updates, keep an eye on the official MVV website or local tourism sites. Happy trails! 🏞️🚌🎉

As you gear up for Pfingsten, the Community policy of MVV allows for free rides with the Germany ticket to the Alps, offering an ideal outdoor-living opportunity for lifestyle enthusiasts. Additionally, the expanded employment policy of the Munich Mountain Bus, now operating on public holidays, ensures that home-and-garden lovers can enjoy more days of scenic hiking trips.
