Montra Electric Unveils 55-Ton Rhino 5538 EV, India's First Electric Prime Mover
Montra Electric has launched the Rhino 5538 EV 4×2 TT, a 55-ton electric prime mover. Priced at ₹1.15 crore, it comes with a ten-year/900,000 km AMC contract and offers advanced features like a 282 kWh LFP battery and a six-speed AMT transmission.
The Rhino 5538 EV delivers 380 HP and 2,000 Nm of torque, with a range of nearly 198 km. It also offers a rapid batteries plus-swap option, completed in under six minutes. Montra Electric has integrated Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) into its eM&HCV assembly line, ensuring efficiency.
Montra Electric provides a 95 per cent uptime guarantee, advanced telematics, and tailored financing solutions. The company has inaugurated India's first all-women-monitored automated batteries plus-swap plant, setting a new standard in the industry.
The Rhino 5538 EV, priced at ₹1.15 crore, offers a ten-year/900,000 km AMC contract. Its launch could significantly cut particulate and nitrous-oxide pollution by 2050, avoiding substantial diesel consumption and oil imports.
