Moenchengladbach Kulturrucksack Opens 2026 Funding Round for Creative Youth Projects
The Moenchengladbach Kulturrucksack has opened its 2026 funding round, inviting innovative project proposals for children and youth aged 10 to 14. The program encourages creativity, with a focus on dance, performance, art installations, and more. A new minimum professional artist hourly fee of 55 euros has been introduced for this year's news.
Interested parties can now submit their ideas, with a deadline of October 31. Irina Pauli, coordinator of the program, urges applicants to be creative and encourages first-timers to consult with the Culture Office before submitting. All activities in the program remain free for participants. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports the program with an annual sum of around 75,000 euros.
Projects can include dance and performance, shadow theater, art installations using old hockey materials, building musical instruments, or creating a communal pottery kiln. Both new ideas and further development of proven concepts are welcome. The Ministry of Culture and Science NRW has introduced a binding minimum fee of 55 euros per hour for professional artists starting 2026.
Birte Wehmeier, deputy director of the Culture Office, has kicked off the new funding round. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to Irina Pauli at [email protected] with any questions. The Moenchengladbach Culture Backpack program continues to offer diverse cultural activities, with the 2026 funding round now open for submissions.
