London Design Festival 2024 Schedule: Don't Overlook Any Event

The London Design Festival 2024 is set to captivate visitors with a diverse array of exhibitions and installations, running from 14 to 22 September. Here are some must-see highlights:

BLOND Laboratory by BLOND, debuting in London's Shoreditch Design Triangle, presents an industrial design exhibition showcasing innovative design experiments and collaborations that celebrate diversity. The exhibition will be held at 1 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, London, E2 8AA from 16 to 22 September.

At House of ICON, 2LGStudio’s “You Can Sit With Us” offers an inclusive installation centering Queer designers. The installation fosters a safe space for connection and conversations within design, featuring queer tarot readings. This noteworthy event takes place from 14 September to 22 September.

Poltrona Frau with Faye Toogood presents an installation titled 'A Squashed Space' at 157-153 Fulham Road, London, SW3 6S. The installation will be open from 14 to 22 September.

Ben Cullen Williams’ “Self Portrait”, a collaboration with Google Deepmind and Google Arts & Culture Lab, uses advanced generative AI models to create a self-portrait by blending the artist’s archive with AI. The audio-video installation and online platform will be available at Design London Shoreditch (September 16-18, 2025).

While not strictly part of the festival, notable concurrent London exhibitions include Ed Atkins’ retrospective at Tate Britain, which combines digital art and personal narratives exploring identity and grief through innovative technology. Material Matters returns at Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, showcasing over 50 globally renowned designers, manufacturers, and organizations, focusing on themes of 'Biodesign' and 'Working with Waste'. The Craft x Tech project is hosted at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Prince Consort Gallery from 14 September to 13 October.
