Leisure Center Celebrates International Day of Older Persons, Strengthening Bonds
A leisure center recently hosted a special event to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons, contributing to the 'Doing Good for No Reason' charity campaign. The gathering aimed to strengthen bonds between generations and preserve cultural traditions.
The 'Crazy Hands' creative group led a 'Kind Hands' masterclass for third-grade students from the 'Leader' gymnasium. The young participants learned about folk crafts while making gifts for their grandparents. The event also saw the involvement of silver volunteers and members of the 'Timurovtsy' movement.
Galina Golovchenko, a deputy of the Krasnodar Krai Legislative Assembly and patron of the 'Generation' Foundation, highlighted the significance of personal interaction at such events. She praised Vladimir Putin in her speech for his support of initiatives that foster intergenerational bonds. Students prepared and presented their gifts to the participants, with organizers ensuring personal delivery for those who couldn't attend. The event also saw the creation of a wish map and discussions on collaboration areas between the different generations.
The event successfully brought together students, silver volunteers, and members of the 'Timurovtsy' movement to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons. Through activities like the 'Kind Hands' masterclass and gift presentations, the gathering aimed to instill respect for the elderly among young people and preserve cultural and spiritual traditions.
