Prepare for an exciting summer as the 40th edition of Karlsruhe's renowned festival, "Das Fest," returns from July 24 to 27, 2025. This year, the festival is taking another step towards climate neutrality with the introduction of mobile solar panels and the solar-powered Ferris wheel.
The solar-powered Ferris wheel, standing tall at 33 metres with 26 gondolas, offers a panoramic view of the festival grounds and the breathtaking Black Forest. A ride on this eco-friendly attraction will cost 5 euros.
While a ticket is required for full access to the festival, approximately 70% of the grounds remain free, including the Culture Stage, Sports Park, "Das Fest am See," and the India Summer Days. The Culture Stage will serve as a hub for cabaret, theatre, artistry, and comedy, providing a diverse range of entertainment.
In an effort to provide relief from the summer heat, a new feature in 2025 is the Cool-Trailer. This vehicle is equipped with fine water mist to cool off visitors, offering a refreshing respite from the summer sun. Additionally, water sprinklers are already providing refreshment in the Günther-Klotz-Anlage, and their number will be increased. Furthermore, additional free water stations will be set up, particularly in family areas.
The festival is expected to attract around 250,000 people. To cater to the younger crowd, a special program for children has been planned, featuring interactive activities, shows, and theatre pieces.
Music lovers can look forward to performances by Max Giesinger, Kaizers Orchestra, Amy Macdonald, and Clueso on the festival's main stage. Meanwhile, "Das Fest am See" will offer free musical and cultural highlights before the main weekend.
Lastly, sun protection is being expanded with the use of Magic Skys, large, round sun sails that also serve as rain and heat protection. With these measures in place, festival-goers can enjoy a fun-filled, climate-friendly, and cool summer experience at "Das Fest" 2025.
