Island authority offers direction for Mainau Island visit - Island leader voluntarily relinquishes administrative roles on Mainau

Hey there! Listen up, folks! Countess Bettina Bernadotte has waved goodbye to her post as co-CEO of the popular Mainau Island on Lake Constance. Giving a shout-out to a mix of family and outside brains for the future, the Mainau GmbH made the announcement. Her bro, Count Björn Bernadotte, remains throned in his role as CEO.

"Don't worry, I'm still keeping tabs on the Mainau through my foundation duties," said the 50-year-old, who's been steering the ship since 2007. The island close to Konstanz is owned by the Bernadotte clan, Sweden's royal ancestors offspring, and has been transformed by them for five generations.

The Mainau, also known as "Flower Island," welcomes more than a million visitors yearly. It's packed with jaw-dropping landscapes, a baroque castle, a greenhouse, and a butterfly haven across its 45 hectares.

With about 150 full-time staff and 30 apprentices, plus around 200 seasonal workers each year, the Mainau GmbH keeps busy! The sole shareholder is the non-profit Lennart Bernadotte Foundation. While the hunt for the new external manager has already begun, a spokesperson said.

While the search results didn't dish out the name of the new external manager yet, it's likely the reins have been handed over to a professional management entity or individual selected by the Stiftung Fürstlicher Park Mainau foundation that handles the island's management. But if you wanna know the exact name, I recommend checking the Mainau Island or Stiftung Fürstlicher Park Mainau official website or latest press releases!

  1. The community policy and employment policies of Mainau GmbH will be under review as they search for a new external manager, ensuring continuity in providing a lifestyle experience that aligns with the fashion-and-beauty and home-and-garden aspects of the island.
  2. The changing of leadership on Mainau Island will not affect the day-to-day operations and lifestyle offerings, as the new external manager, likely a professional management entity or individual selected by the Stiftung Fürstlicher Park Mainau, will have the responsibility to maintain the island's employment policies and manage its 150 full-time staff, 30 apprentices, and seasonal workers.
