Is there plans for LAP Coffee to expand to Baden-Württemberg?

LAP Coffee, the popular coffee chain that stands for 'Life Among People' or 'Life Amongst People', has been making waves across Germany since its first branch opened in Berlin in 2023. With over 20 locations now in the country, the majority of which are in Berlin, four in Munich, and one in Hamburg, the company is showing no signs of slowing down.

However, for the year 2025, LAP Coffee's expansion outside Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg will be put on hold. The company's founder and CEO, Ralph Hage, has confirmed that no new openings outside these cities will take place in 2025. This decision is not a setback but a strategic move, as the company's goal is market expansion, not displacement.

LAP Coffee's approach to expansion is not based on gut feeling but on concrete signals and data. The company doesn't automatically open in a location just because of interest; the conditions must be right. Neighborhood interest is measured through qualified resident requests, inquiries from landlords, local support, and commuter flows.

The question of LAP Coffee's entry into the region of Baden-Württemberg has been a topic of discussion among consumers there. According to Ralph Hage, Stuttgart shows the strongest interest, but expansion there will occur only when the right conditions are met. The exact opening date for Baden-Württemberg has not been set due to the company's 2025 expansion plans being on hold.

LAP Coffee competes more with chains like Starbucks, Coffee Fellows, or McCafé than with small, local brunch cafés. The company offers relatively affordable coffee and trendy drinks like Matcha Latte or Iced Flat White, and drinks can be ordered online in advance.

The coffee chain is very present on social media platforms and numerous media outlets have reported on LAP Coffee. Despite the industry association Dehoga in Baden-Württemberg not commenting on individual companies and their strategies, the interest in LAP Coffee in the region remains high.

LAP Coffee's stores are not designed for long stays. Espresso costs approximately 1.50 euros and cappuccino costs around 2.50 euros, making it an affordable option for a quick coffee break.

As LAP Coffee continues to grow in Germany, it remains committed to its mission of being a part of the community and not just a passing trend. The company's focus on data-driven expansion and affordability makes it a strong contender in the coffee market.
