The Iowa Dairy Princess and Alternate for the year 2024-2025 have been announced. Kaitlyn Besler has been crowned as the new Iowa Dairy Princess, while Alia Domeyer will serve as the Alternate.

Kaitlyn Besler hails from Worthington, and Alia Domeyer is from Delhi. Both young women are representatives of the Iowa dairy industry and will promote agriculture, dairy, and rural life throughout the state.

Alia Domeyer, who was previously the 2024 Iowa Brown Swiss Princess and this year serves as the Allamakee County Dairy Princess Alternate, will share duties with Kaitlyn Besler during their one-year tenure.

The crowning ceremony took place at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Wednesday night. This marks the second year in a row that Delaware County is home to Iowa dairy royalty, as Alia Domeyer represented Delaware County in the contest and previously served as the 2024 Delaware County Dairy Princess.

The outgoing Iowa Dairy Princess and Alternate, Haley Ronnebaum and Harley Baumler, will end their reign at the end of the month. Haley Ronnebaum, the current Iowa Dairy Princess, is the daughter of Mitch and Jenny Ronnebaum of Earlville. Harley Baumler, the current Alternate Iowa Dairy Princess, is the daughter of Mike and Amy Baumler of St. Lucas.

Four other candidates from the KMCH listening area also competed for the positions, including Bianka Ronnebaum of Earlville, Maleah Demmer of Dundee, Kaitlyn Besler of Worthington, and Libby Hagemann of New Vienna.

The Iowa Dairy Princess and Alternate are chosen from thirteen candidates annually, and their duties include promoting the dairy industry and rural life throughout the state. The new Iowa Dairy Princess and Alternate will begin their duties on September 1st.
