Inaugural local eateries in Munich make a grand entrance, featuring A-list shine
In the heart of Munich's Werksviertel district, Magari by Geisha, formerly Magari by Aytac Beycan, has undergone a significant transformation. The new concept, a fusion of Southeast Asian and Japanese cuisines, was unveiled at a grand opening last Friday.
The revamped restaurant is now under the ownership of Hani Nguyen and her husband Anh Tuan Hoang, who were offered the opportunity due to Hani's successful track record at her previous establishment, Geisha at Gärtnerplatz.
The new Magari by Geisha offers a diverse menu created by Chef Chriz Bauer, with an emphasis on upscale cuisine, including sushi. In the evenings, the restaurant transforms into a cocktail bar, serving self-created drinks and Asian spirits.
The grand opening was attended by approximately 100 guests, including former Bayern star Giovane Elber, fashion designer Anja Ziller, and MAHAG business manager Martin Lohmann. A highlight of the event was the demonstration by Hani's husband, the house's sushi master, who showcased his skills by filleting a 106-kilogram tuna.
Ahmed Galmami, the business manager, emphasised the long-term quality goals for Magari by Geisha. The aim is to make a lasting impact on the Werksviertel neighbourhood and attract more people to the area.
Magari by Geisha is located at Friedenstraße 20a and is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Sunday. The restaurant offers breakfast items such as the Papaya Boat Bowl and the Geisha Eggdrop Sandwich, in addition to its evening menu.
The new concept at Magari by Geisha marks a new culinary offering in Munich's Werksviertel, promising to maintain quality for decades to come.
