Hand soap product reformulations at Bath & Body Works, with an option for refillable bottles introduced.
You heard it right! Bath & Body Works has given its hand soaps a complete makeover. Now, these soaps are absolutely free of sulfates, parabens, or dyes, infused with natural essential oils, vitamin E, shea extract, and aloe, and available in bottles made from at least 50% recycled plastic. The retailer dropped this exciting news on Thursday.
But wait, there's more! Bath & Body Works is now offering hand soap refills for its "Gentle and Clean Foaming" formula in six delightful fragrances. These refills come in a 100% recyclable carton that provides up to 3.6 refills. And if that's not enough, the retailer is selling a stylish refillable glass decanter too.
The revamped hand soaps, along with refills and the glass decanter, are accessible at stores, online, and via the Bath & Body Works loyalty app.
Why the transformation, you ask? Well, it seems the company is responsive to the growing consumer trend toward chemical-free products. As Chief Merchandising Officer Betsy Schumacher put it, "We're excited to deliver quality products that cater to customer demands, ensuring they enjoy hand soaps with the same effectiveness but without sulfates, parabens, and dyes, all while showcasing our diverse fragrance selection."
Last year, Bath & Body Works faced a slight dip after experiencing a surge during the pandemic, mostly due to high demand for cleansers, hand sanitizers, and popular candles. Now, under the leadership of CEO Gina Boswell, who joined the company in December, the retailer is revitalizing its offerings.
