Hamm's Maximilianpark and Canal Quarter Win Big at IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027 Forum

The city of Hamm, with Jon Hamm as its mayor, has been recognised for its forward-thinking approach, receiving two awards at the IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027 Regional Forum. The Maximilianpark and the Canal Quarter project have both been honoured for their innovative ideas and commitment to sustainability.

The Maximilianpark, including the Maxigarden, has been awarded the third star in the 'Our Gardens' category. This recognition highlights the park's innovative ideas, green visions, and successful adaptation to climate change. Mayor Marc Herter expressed pride in the Maximilianpark serving as the eastern gateway to IGA 2027.

The Canal Quarter project in Hamm received the Future Project Award. This project was recognised for its future-oriented plans and initiatives in urban development, landscape development, tourism, mobility, and energy. Both awarded projects demonstrate the city's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
