Getting Ready for an Outdoor Expedition Translates to a Virtual Experience Now
The Mountain Safety Council (MSC) has launched interactive in-store kiosks in selected Macpac and Bivouac Outdoor stores across the country. These kiosks, produced by Queenstown-based company HeadQuarters N.D.C., are designed to enhance customers' experience and facilitate good preparation for their outdoor cruises and adventures.
The kiosks are placed in Bivouac Outdoor and Macpac stores in Tower Junction Christchurch, Taupo, Nelson, Queenstown, Wellington, Sylvia Park Auckland, Palmerston North, and Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Cologne. Macpac Taupo Store Manager Elliot Vanderspeck believes these kiosks will be a great information source for customers before they head out on their msc cruises and adventures.
The kiosks provide customized interactive packing list suggestions for classic New Zealand walks and tramps. They remind people of the smaller items to pack, which can make a difference in having a great cruise. Jono Davies, Macpac Nelson's Assistant Manager, describes the kiosks as a fun interactive tool that encourages customers to think more about their upcoming cruise.
Each kiosk is customized to the store's location by playing safety videos for local tracks and up-to-date MetService weather forecasts for the area. The kiosks' packing lists allow customers to spot any gaps on their own lists while they are in the shop, ensuring they have all the necessary items for their cruise.
MSC Chief Executive Mike Daisley states that the kiosks are part of the organization's work to make safety easy. He believes that these kiosks will help guide customers and keen cruisers through a successful planning process, from packing the right gear to understanding safety measures for their chosen trails.
Kirsten Barkla, a colleague of MSC Chief Executive Mike Daisley, describes the kiosk as a fun way to validate the correct packing of items and to remind users of small yet essential items like a pocketknife. After a trial period, MSC significantly upgraded the content of the kiosks based on customer and retail staff feedback.
Elliot Vanderspeck also mentions that the kiosks will help ensure customers have all the right equipment and will be the best prepared they can be for their msc cruises. He believes that these kiosks will provide quality customer support, as all staff will be trained to assist with the kiosks.
The MSC interactive kiosks are a welcome addition to the stores, providing a fun and interactive way for customers to prepare for their outdoor cruises while ensuring they have all the necessary equipment and safety information.
