In a unique fusion of education and creativity, the courtyard of Fresenius University in Wiesbaden transformed into a runway for a graduation fashion show hosted by the AMD Akademie Mode & Design on February 1st. Twelve young designers presented their graduation collections, showcasing a rebellious, extravagant, and innovative approach to fashion.

The show, themed around deconstructing traditional garments and exploring gender roles, reflected the university's emphasis on creative innovation and the intersection of design with social and cultural issues.

Students experimented with breaking down classic wardrobe staples such as blazers and jeans, reinterpreting their traditional forms and structures to create new visual and conceptual narratives. This contemporary design approach challenges conventional tailoring and the symbolism of these garments.

The collection also explored and questioned traditional gender norms in clothing, likely showcasing designs that blur or redefine masculine and feminine boundaries. This aligns with broader cultural conversations about fluidity and identity in fashion today.

Denim dominated in the collections of Nicki Minouei, Ilena Brandenstein, and Amelie Schießer, while other collections featured transparency as a key element, with fabric disappearing and skin appearing. The lingerie looks in the show were soft and almost ordinary, with designs playing with the aesthetics of wrapping and emphasizing female sensuality.

The fashion show provided new impulses for the fashion industry, serving as a platform for students to apply their analytical and creative skills developed through their bachelor studies, including trend analysis, brand understanding, and practical design execution within a professional context.
