Forest and Furry Creatures Arrive at Milan Design Week, Courtesy of Buccellati
Buccellati's Furry Animals Collection Comes to Life at Milan Design Week 2025
Buccellati, a renowned jewellery and silverware house, is set to present its iconic Furry Animals collection during Milan Design Week 2025. The exhibition will take place in Piazza Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, at the threshold of Buccellati's Milan headquarters.
First produced in 1965 by Mario Buccellati, the Furry Animals collection includes majestic eagles, sprightly squirrels, and sinuous tigers, among other animals. Each creature in the collection is painstakingly sculpted by hand, with intricate details to create the illusion of fur. The collection is still produced in the same workshop where Buccellati's artisans have been honing their craft for decades.
The immersive experience in the Furry Animals collection display will transport visitors into a poetic reinterpretation of the natural world. The exhibition is enveloped by real foliage curated by Studio Mary Lennox, based in Berlin, Germany. The mountain environment in the immersive experience is designed to resemble a Magritte painting, with simulated wind sounds and rocks floating overhead. In the woods environment, a majestic stag, handcrafted by Buccellati's artisans, will be present among the trees.
The multisensory experience in the exhibition is created by Balich Wonder Studio and Studio Mary Lennox. Lucrezia Buccellati, a primary collaborator, will present and guide visitors through the experience, emphasizing the high level of realistic design and artistry behind the Furry Animals pieces. Andrea Buccellati, her father, whose influence is seen in related architectural motifs in the broader Buccellati designs for the event, particularly in pieces like Buccellati's Cuffs, also plays a significant role.
This design-driven, family-influenced immersive presentation aims to deepen the understanding of Buccellati’s artisanal techniques and artistic vision at Milan Design Week 2025. The exhibition can be found on the website buccellati.com. The Furry Animals collection display will be open to the public from April 8th to 13th in Milan's Piazza Tomasi di Lampedusa.
At the Furry Animals collection display of Buccellati during Milan Design Week 2025, visitors can explore a lifestyle experience that seamlessly blends fashion-and-beauty and home-and-garden elements. In this immersive presentation, Studio Mary Lennox curates real foliage to transport visitors into a poetic reinterpretation of the natural world, while Balich Wonder Studio adds a multisensory element to the experience.
