In the heart of Saxony, the esteemed Boutique Hotel "Rothenburger Hof" has stolen the spotlight, securing the title of Dresden's best hotel as per the "Guest Favorite" ranking. This illustrious title is bestowed annually by the Saxony State Tourism Association in collaboration with TrustYou, an extensive monitoring system that evaluates over 250 online travel portals such as booking.com, Google, and Holidaycheck.de.
"We bloody well deserve it!" beams Luise Eggenhofer, the hotel's co-manager alongside her father, Ferenc Weidel. They acquired the historic property, the oldest in Dresden's Outer New Town, just four years ago and have subsequently renovated and modernized it to perfection.
The hotel's commitment to the comfort and well-being of its guests has shone through, particularly in the charming pool and inviting breakfast room. Every year, Eggenhofer publishes a magazine for guests, highlighting the city's most significant events, trendy shops, and must-visit attractions in the New Town.
"Last year, the Buhlow Palace in the Inner New Town was chosen," Eggenhofer reminisces, adding, "Now we're keeping our fingers crossed for the final which takes place on September 1 in Chemnitz."
Saxony Shines in Guest Satisfaction
In addition to announcing the finalists, the association unveiled some captivating data. Saxony ranks a respectable third in Germany, boasting aguest satisfaction score of 84.1 points on the TrustYou monitoring system for 2024, a slight increase of 0.3 points from the previous year. The national average hovers around 83.3 points.
A total of 21 accommodations have been nominated for the "Guest Favorite" final, with the state winners being announced on September 1, 2025, in Chemnitz during the OSV Tourism Barometer.
Hotels and pensions required at least 70 online reviews, while vacation rentals needed 50. In 2025, 827 out of 2,248 accommodations qualified, resulting in the analysis of a jaw-dropping 498,265 reviews on over 250 global platforms.
New criteria for the 2025 edition emphasize online visibility and sustainability management. Businesses' response rates to guest feedback are also taken into account.
The "Guest Favorite" competition, now in its tenth year, is a mainstay on the Saxon tourism calendar. Its aim is to champion quality and hospitality, fostering positive trends in the industry.
While specific rankings for all of Saxony are not readily available, other hotels across the region have earned accolades for their exceptional service and facilities.
