Johanniter Day Care Center Celebrates Colorful Summer Festival in Bad Wörishofen

The Johanniter Day Care Center in Bad Wörishofen marked its 5th anniversary with a vibrant summer festival under the theme "Positive Thoughts" in July 2025. The event, which took place on Kaufbeurer Street, was filled with dancing, laughter, and a joyful atmosphere that emphasized positivity[1].

The festival was a significant milestone for the center, showcasing community engagement and good spirits during the summer festivity[1]. Sabine Schauer, the head of the day care center, stated that the festival aimed to demonstrate the joy, activity, and community possible even with physical or mental limitations.

The day began with two rehearsed chair dances performed by the day guests, choreographed by care assistants Claudia Zoller and Nicola Schneider. Creative participation activities, colorful cloth dances, and water games were part of the festival, providing ample opportunities for guests to engage actively.

A relative shared her appreciation for the day care center, highlighting its relieving and varied offers. Guests were given a paper rose with a "positive thought" as a farewell gift. The festival also featured a photo booth for taking memorable pictures and an entertaining celebrity guessing game in the afternoon.

The summer festival was attended by around 60 guests, including day guests and their relatives. Alexandra Reinhart, the regional manager of Johanniter in Upper Bavaria, and Michael Meyer, the personnel director of Johanniter in Upper Bavaria, were also present.

The day care center still has available spots for new guests. The festival was a special highlight due to the postponement of the opening celebration in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. Everyone enjoyed coffee and homemade cake to conclude the event.

Friedemann Pechstein, a senior caregiver and deputy head of the day care center, demonstrated his grilling skills at lunchtime, serving homemade salads with fresh bread alongside the grilled meat. The guests presented their well-maintained vegetable garden and their own handicrafts as a living symbol of active daily life in the day care center.
