Explore Neuwied's History and Future: 3 Guided Tours on Oct 12
Neuwied, a city rich in history and culture, is offering three fascinating guided tours on Sunday, October 12. The tours, part of the city's autumn exploration tours, delve into the city's past and present, with one tour even offering a glimpse into its future.
The day begins at 2 PM with the old cemetery tour. Starting at the entrance in Julius-Remy Street, participants will explore the final resting place of influential Neuwied families and the cemetery keeper's house. Meanwhile, at 3 PM, two other tours kick off simultaneously. The dyke tour, starting at the dyke information center, focuses on the history and functioning of the flood protection dyke, including a walk along the Neuwied dyke. Across town, the French city tour begins in front of Neuwied Castle, offering a unique perspective on the city's famous sights in the language of love.
All tours require registration by October 10, which can be done by phone, email, or in person at the tourist information office. The participation fee is 6 euros for adults, 4 euros for children aged 6 to 14, and free for children under 6. Additionally, the Treasure Hunt with Flashlights, an event for children, requires registration by the same date through the Neuwied Tourist Information. Participants are encouraged to bring their own flashlights for this exciting adventure.
