The Dresden Tram Museum is set to open its doors for a special event on Sunday, during the summer holidays. While specific details about the event remain scarce, visitors can expect a day filled with unique experiences and historical transportation.

Despite limited information available, it is confirmed that the museum will be open from 10 am to 5 pm, offering visitors the chance to explore hands-on exhibits featuring old gear parts, control switches, and paper stop signs. Admission for adults is five euros, with children aged 6 to 14 paying three euros.

One of the highlights of the event will be the opportunity to take special trips on historical trams and buses. The museum's fleet, which includes 19 motor cars and maintenance vehicles, as well as 22 trailer cars and trailers, will be utilized for these unique journeys.

Among the historical vehicles that will be in operation are the "Berolina-Zug" tram, built in 1901, which offers a mini-round trip to the Wild Man every half hour from 10:45 am to 16:15 pm. Passengers on this tram will experience standing during the ride, mimicking historical driver conditions.

Another highlight will be the red and white Ikarus 180 articulated bus from Chemnitz, which will make a guest appearance, offering round trips to Boxdorf every hour from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Visitors can also look forward to trying a tram driving simulator, making their own tram out of cardboard, participating in a tram quiz, and visiting the museum café "Schiebebühne".

For those seeking a countryside adventure, the Ikarus 250 will go to Moritzburg and Radeberg at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. An additional fee is charged for all special trips, with countryside trips costing ten euros.

The children's tram "Lottchen" will operate at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm, providing child-friendly entertainment. An additional fee is charged for special trips with the "Oldies".

The event's schedule also includes the historic Tatra tram, which will run every full hour from 11 am to 4 pm to the New Market and back.

Volunteers from the association Verein Straßenbahnmuseum Dresden e.V., which maintains the historical vehicles of Dresden's public transport system, will be on hand to share the stories behind their unique exhibits.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, visitors are encouraged to visit the official Dresden Transport Museum (Verkehrsmuseum Dresden) website or contact them directly. Local event calendars, tourism boards, or the city’s cultural department may also have announcements regarding special museum days. Additionally, following relevant local organizations on social media can provide event updates, though these may not be museum-specific.
