Primark Expands Brick-and-Mortar Presence in the United States

Fashion retailer Primark is making a significant stride in its U.S. expansion, marking a decade since it opened its first store in Boston in 2015. The company has announced plans to open new stores across the country, including its first foray into Minnesota.

As of now, Primark has 33 stores across the U.S., and it has signed leases for an additional 18 locations. Four of these new stores will be in new locations, marking Primark's continued growth in the American market.

One of the new stores will be Primark's first Manhattan flagship, located in Herald Square, which was announced last year. The retailer has also opened a new office in downtown Boston this year.

Primark's expansion comes as the company seeks to spread the word to American consumers that they don't need to sacrifice style if they're on a budget. Global Chief Customer Officer Michelle McEttrick emphasised this point, stating that Primark offers affordable choices for everyone, just as it was founded with that aim in mind.

In addition to its focus on affordability, Primark is also committed to sustainability. Its "Primark Cares" strategy aims to achieve various commitments by 2030, including using recycled or sustainably sourced materials, halving carbon emissions, and pursuing a living wage for workers in its supply chain.

Last year, Primark launched its first U.S. brand campaign titled "That's So Primark," which showcases the company's unique and affordable fashion offerings. The campaign has been well-received by consumers, further solidifying Primark's position in the U.S. market.
