Exhibition of Artworks from Miettin's Collection at Philara Gallery in Düsseldorf

Timo Miettinen shares a passion for art, similar to his Düsseldorf friend Gil Bronner. Yet, unlike the latter, Miettinen has not constructed a museum. Instead, he showcases his collection in an unconventional manner.

Exhibition Alert: Exploring the Miettinen Collection in Düsseldorf and Berlin

Art enthusiasts, mark your calendars! Two captivating exhibitions featuring the Miettinen Collection are currently on display, offering a unique glimpse into the diverse and multilayered contemporary artworks housed in this impressive collection.

In Düsseldorf, the exhibition "Where Are We Now: Highlights of the Miettinen Collection" at the Philara Collection is a must-see. Running until September 21, this exhibition presents a broad overview with around 150 works by over 80 artists. The focus is on themes such as landscape and nature, reflecting the origins and evolution of the collection.

Some highlights include André Butzer's abstract-expressive painting "Favorite Painting of Paul Cézanne", which is part of the Miettinen Collection. Another noteworthy piece is Oska Gutheil's "Portrait of Timo Miettinen", painted in 2019.

Meanwhile, in Berlin, Timo Miettinen, a Finnish entrepreneur, displays his art collection in his Charlottenburg residence. The public can currently view highlights from the Düsseldorf Philara collection in Miettinen's Berlin salon. This exhibition is open on Saturdays from 12-6 pm.

One of the standout pieces in Berlin is Secundino Hernández's series "Lupis Ipsum", a freely floating gestural painting reacting to El Greco's "Apostles" in the exhibition. Aurora Reinhard from Helsinki has contributed a nearly romantic "Spring Morning at Kruunuvor Pond" photograph and a Dior handbag sculpture ("The End #3") to the collection.

For those in Potsdam, "Exit Paradise: The Miettinen Collection" is running at Schloss Sacrow from July 12 to September 28, 2025. This exhibition showcases works by 55 artists from the Miettinen Collection, including André Butzer.
