DEG Winterworld Kicks Off 2025/2026 Season in Düsseldorf

Get ready for a winter wonderland experience as the DEG Winterworld in Düsseldorf prepares to open its doors for the 2025/2026 season. From November 7, 2025, to January 11, 2026, the city center will be transformed into a festive hub of ice skating, food, and entertainment.

Ice Skating and More

The main attraction is the "Kö on Ice" event, an ice skating rink suitable for all ages and skill levels. For those seeking a more competitive edge, ice stock shooting has made a return this year, taking place on a synthetic surface near Theodor-Körner-Straße.

To ensure a fun and safe experience, the ice surface has been made smaller compared to previous years, and energy consumption has been reduced by replacing the traditional ice surface.

A Cozy Alpine Retreat

The Füchschen-Alm venue, located across two floors, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy traditional German food and drinks. While the exact food stalls and menus have not been detailed, the Füchschen-Alm is known for its alpine ambiance, suggesting hearty fare and warm beverages will be on offer.

New Terrace and Catering Concept

In addition to the Füchschen-Alm, a new, COVID-19 compliant terrace has been built at the end of the ice rink. This two-story, covered terrace offers plenty of space for visitors to enjoy their meals and drinks in comfort. The new catering concept also includes a special mulled wine called 'Glühkirsch'.

Additional Activities and Entertainment

School classes often use the ice rink for physical education, and the DEG Winterworld offers numerous activities beyond ice skating. However, no detailed timed schedule with specific activities beyond skating and ice stock shooting has been provided in the current information. For the most up-to-date program and food vendor specifics, checking the official DEG Winterwelt website closer to or during the event dates is recommended.

Skate Rental and Booking

Skates are available for rent in all sizes, and booking in advance is recommended for ice stock shooting due to its popularity among groups.

Operating Hours

The DEG Winterworld operates from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. The Alm terrace at the DEG Winterworld opens one hour later each day.

As the evenings draw in, around 5000 lights illuminate the ice rink, creating a beautiful light dome for visitors to enjoy. Six "Christmas huts" are also open, offering a variety of culinary delights.

DJ Dubbelmann plays at the after-work event on the DEG Winterworld from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays to Saturdays, making the pre-Christmas season a truly unforgettable experience for all.
