New Play Equipment Installed at Werksstraße Community Accommodation in Hattingen

A vibrant new play equipment set has been installed at the community accommodation on Werksstraße in Hattingen, thanks to the support of local sponsors and volunteers.

Stefanie Berkermann, head of the Social Affairs and Housing department of Hattingen, expressed her gratitude to the volunteers of the playroom at Werksstraße for their dedication and commitment over several years. The volunteers have been instrumental in the success of the play equipment installation, with Berkermann acknowledging their importance.

The new play equipment includes a red slide with climbing elements, a seesaw, a round sandbox, and two football goals. Berkermann highlighted the contribution of the volunteers in making much possible at Werksstraße and emphasized her appreciation for their hard work.

The outdated play equipment at Werksstraße has been replaced with new alternatives, with the city administration actively supporting the planning and implementation of the play equipment. Contributions from the departments of Building Management, City Operations, and Social Affairs and Housing were crucial in the project's success.

The acquisition of the play equipment was made possible through the support of local sponsors and partners, including Sparkasse Hattingen, Kinderschutzbund Hattingen/Sprockhövel, CVJM Hattingen, Volksbank Hattingen eG, and Förderverein Gemeinsames Spielen und Lernen e.V. Berkermann expressed her special thanks to these sponsors for their generous support in replacing the old equipment.

The new play equipment at Werksstraße is considered attractive by Berkermann, with the colourful and engaging design sure to provide hours of fun for children and youth aged one to 17 from 17 different countries. The play equipment is available for all children and youth living at the community accommodation, providing them with a safe and enjoyable space to play.
