Equans to Build 99 Net Zero Homes in Winsford by May 2025
Equans is set to lead a significant development in Winsford, Cheshire West and Chester. The company has received planning consent to demolish and redevelop a former real estate depot on Clough Lane, with construction due to begin on March 6th and completion expected by May 2025. The project will see the creation of 99 net zero houses for sale on a brownfield site, marking a step towards meeting the future real estate standard by 2025.
The new houses for sale will not be connected to the gas network and will be equipped with insulation and low-carbon heating sources such as air source heat pumps and solar panels. This will enable them to release 75-80% less carbon than current standards allow. Additionally, the development will include a new footpath and cycle path to provide access to Weaver Street and encourage active travel. Torus will also be involved in the development, focusing on delivering sustainable houses for sale that meet the future real estate standard. Equans is currently working on two other low-carbon projects in the area, including 138 houses for sale on Wharton Green.
The redevelopment of the former real estate depot on Clough Lane is expected to bring significant environmental benefits to the area, with the creation of net zero houses for sale and improved access for pedestrians and cyclists. The project is set to be completed by May 2025, aligning with the incoming future real estate standard in 2025.
