Energy advice for homes in the business and religious neighborhoods

The city of Gießen, in partnership with the Hessian Energy Agency (LEA Hesse), is once again running the "On-site Energy Supply" campaign from September 10 to November 19, 2025. This initiative aims to increase the energy renovation quota and strengthen the living quality and climate protection in the community in the long term.

Now in its third year, the campaign is open to homeowners of single and two-family homes in the Evangelical Settlement, the Professor's Quarter, and two adjacent areas. The campaign has received a great response in previous years, and this year promises to be no different.

The campaign kick-off event will take place on September 10 at 6:00 PM at the Campus of the Technical University of Middle Hesse. The event will include a welcome by Mayor Wright, a presentation of the campaign, and information about connecting to district heating and the use of heat pumps in the area.

Qualified energy consultants will be available to answer individual questions at the event. Interested property owners can now register online, by email, or by phone to book a consultation appointment. During these consultations, homeowners can receive a free, individual energy consultation directly at their home.

The on-site consultations during the campaign will focus on topics such as efficient heat protection, modern heating technology, and the optimal use of renewable energies. The qualified person conducting the detailed energy consultations is a certified energy consultant according to DIN V 18599, involved in creating the ESG detailed report including on-site assessments by energy efficiency experts and technical staff.

Information booths of Stadtwerke Gießen, Sparkasse Gießen, and Volksbank Mittelhessen will offer further information on energy renovation, funding, and financing options. These institutions will provide valuable insights into the financial aspects of energy-efficient upgrades, helping homeowners make informed decisions.

Participating homeowners will receive initial individual recommendations and practical tips for the next steps. The goal of the campaign is to provide specific assistance to make residential buildings more energy-efficient and climate-friendly.

Mayor Wright has emphasized the importance of bringing energy consulting directly to neighborhoods, making it easier for homeowners to access the information they need to make their homes more sustainable. With this campaign, Gießen continues to lead the way in promoting energy efficiency and climate protection in its community.
