The 19th Sustainability Summit, set to take place in India on September 17 and 18, 2024, is a significant event in the journey towards a sustainable future. Hosted by the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CESD), this summit promises to be a platform for effective and positive behavioral change, leading to tangible actions and highlighting best practices.

The summit will bring together leading figures from Industry, Government, research organizations, and civil society. Notable panel members include Mr. Sanjiv Puri, President of CII and Chairman & MD of ITC Ltd, Mr. S. Sivakumar, Chair of CII Agriculture Council and Group Head - Agri & IT Businesses, ITC Limited, Mr. Shishir Joshipura, Co-Chair of CII Bio-Energy Committee and CEO & MD of Praj Industries, and Mr. Sameer Gupta, Chairman of CII MSME Council and Chairman & MD of Jackson Group. Additionally, Ms. Mansi Madan Tripathy, Co-Chairperson of CII National Committee on Hydrocarbons, and Mr. Ravichandran Purushothaman, President of Danfoss India, are also panel members.

The summit will feature special addresses by esteemed individuals such as Mr. C Achalender Reddy, IFS (Retd), Chairperson, National Biodiversity Authority; Mr. Amit Prothi, Director General, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure; Mr. Ravi Singh, Secretary-General and CEO, WWF India; Dr. Lalit R Gabhane, Director General, National Safety Council of India; and EU Vice President Henna Virkkunen, along with over 20 internationally renowned speakers. These include Alexandra Brintrup from the University of Cambridge, Jay Lala from RTX, Dong-Seon Chang from the Future Explorers Society, Maria Rescigno from Humanitas University, and many more, representing fields like technology, innovation, and sustainability.

The summit will also include a Sustainability Solutions Expo by select Start-ups, offering a unique opportunity for innovative ideas to be showcased and discussed.

The summit's goal is to shape a prosperous and sustainable future for all. It will focus on Climate, Responsible & Nature Positive Action; ESG and Technology & Innovation. The event will be a flagship stakeholder engagement dialogue platform for sustainable development, emphasizing the growing role of sustainability leaders and visionaries in driving positive change at a global scale.

Partnering organizations for the summit include ITC Ltd, Grundfos, NABARD, Novenesis, Tata Power, Tata Capital, Shell, Wipro, Zomato, Carrier, Fincham, Elematic, Hutamaki, and Lindstrom. The summit will also host representatives from multilateral agencies and renowned institutions such as the International Finance Corporation and Energy Policy Institute - University of Chicago.

The summit will feature discussions on critical expedients that can drive sustainable change, underscoring the need for collective action towards a sustainable future. Anthology @ CESD Engage will feature contributory research articles and case studies by national & international experts, industry practitioners, and research scholars on the latest in the field of sustainability.
