"Elisengarten Actions Yield Water Visibility"

On Saturday, July 5th, from 12 to 4 pm, the city of Aachen invites residents, particularly children and young people, to participate in a unique event aimed at raising awareness about drinking water management: "Water in Sight". This participatory action will take place around Elisengarten, with no registration required.

The "Water in Sight" event is part of the "1st Aachen Water Route", an initiative organised by the Institute for the European City e.V. and the Interest Group Domviertel. This event is one of several initiatives to revitalize the city centre, actively supported by interest groups.

The action is focused on making publicly accessible drinking water more visible and known, addressing important concerns from the city society and implementing them in concrete actions. A temporary sidewalk marking leading to the fountain will be created with spray chalk to guide participants.

During the event, participants can mark their wishes for new locations of drinking water access on a 20 square meter large city map. There will also be an opportunity to get creative and design flags for a long garland from Elisengarten to the drinking water fountain at Ursulinerstraße.

Visitors may have the chance to win a refillable water bottle. The drinking fountain action specifically addresses the current topic of heat protection, encouraging the use of sustainable drinking options during hot weather.

Mayor Sibylle Keupen is pleased with the support and further development of city centre initiatives by interest groups. Kyra Pfeil, City Manager of the city of Aachen, explains that actions like these are essential for engaging the community and implementing their concerns in concrete actions.

For more information about the "Tool-Box for the City Centre" or future events, visit www.innenstadt-morgen.de or subscribe to the RSS feed for press releases at https://www.ourwebsite.de/rss-feed-press-releases/rss.xml. The "Tool-Box for the City Centre" is available as a print product at the Service Center Katschhof and the Citizen's Lounge of OecherLab.

This event is a great opportunity for the community to come together, learn about local water resources, and contribute to the sustainable future of Aachen. For specific details on dates, organisers, activities, and outcomes, we recommend checking local Aachen municipal websites, environmental NGOs active in the area, or recent event announcements from regional water authorities or universities.

The "Water in Sight" event, part of the "1st Aachen Water Route," held on July 5th from 12 to 4 pm, is designed to educate the community about drinking water management and outdoor-living, in the heart of Aachen's Elisengarten. Visitors are encouraged to share their thoughts on home-and-garden aspects, like new locations for drinking water access, as part of the participatory action.
