Elevated Entertainment and Culinary Journey
Soho Mews House, the latest iteration of the exclusive "next-level leisure and dining experience," boasts a high-quality, design-led audio system installed by London-based integrator Tateside. The system, tailored to complement the venue’s refined interiors while maintaining minimal visual impact, spans multiple areas across the ground, first, and second floors.
In the Piano Bar, 1 SOUND’s C6 loudspeakers and WSUB45 subwoofers were used to support both acoustic piano and DJ performances. DPA microphones provide crystal-clear pickup of performances, and the loudspeakers and monitors have a custom wood-stained finish to visually integrate into the space. 1 SOUND monitors matching this finish are also placed on the piano and DJ booth.
The main dining room features more compact C4 coaxial loudspeakers and MiniSUB5 subwoofers, with the subs cleverly installed under banquette seating to reduce footprint and visual presence.
The private dining room is equipped with MiniSUB5 subwoofers positioned above draped fabric ceilings, allowing premium audio quality without disrupting the elegant interior design.
The design priority was to ensure high-end audio while keeping the speakers discreet and consistent with Soho Mews House’s upscale, mature ambiance. This was achieved through custom finishes (wood-stained and color-matched loudspeakers), careful placement (hidden subwoofers under seats or above ceilings), and selecting compact models suited to their environments.
In the live performance Half Moon Bar space, similar custom 1 SOUND audio solutions were used, maintaining the continuity of sound quality and style throughout the venue. DMX show lighting is tied in through Q-SYS, with control via an Apple iPad or simplified switching via Pragma wall panels on each floor. Audio EQ and automatic time alignment shifting are included in the live performance mode. A Skaarhoj motorised fader bank was installed in the Piano Bar for basic microphone control.
Tower Systems, composed of LCC84 and SUB310, were implemented in the Half Moon Bar for live music support, and the audio system includes 20 dB of rear-cancellation on the Tower column to eliminate potential noise on stage. The Tower Systems were built to match the wood walls in the Half Moon Bar space.
Tateside designed a distributed system for the Half Moon Bar, using Cannon C6s and WSUB45 wall subs. The Q-SYS control backend allows the Half Moon Bar rooms to support multiple modes, including DJ and live performance modes.
In summary, Soho Mews House’s AV system uses custom 1 SOUND loudspeakers—C6 with WSUB45 in the Piano Bar, C4 with MiniSUB5 in dining areas—all finished to blend visually into interiors. Subwoofers are discreetly hidden, and audio devices like microphones complement the set-up without bulky gear, preserving the venue’s elegant and undisturbed design.
