Construction development to feature a green space: Newly built area "On the Rode" set to unveil park and playground in October
New Play and Relaxation Facility in Lippstadt's 'Auf dem Rode' Development to Open in October 2025
Residents of Lippstadt have the opportunity to shape the new development area, 'Auf dem Rode,' with a park-like facility scheduled to open on October 9, 2025. The name of this green and news area will be chosen from the submissions of local residents, making it a community-driven project.
The facility, which will boast spacious open areas for relaxation, picnicking, and play, will feature a variety of attractions. These include a trampoline, seesaw, giant swing, a football field, and a hill adorned with wooden elements for climbing and exploring. There will also be a playhouse with a slide for the little ones, as well as a new sand pit that includes a small stream with a weir, which flows into a sand area.
For older children, there is a rope course available. The facility aims to serve as a meeting point for all generations in the new development.
Deike Westarp, a representative of the development, expresses hope that the green area will be a place for everyone, where meeting, movement, and play can coexist. However, before the opening, the foundations of the play equipment need to dry out, and the grass needs to grow denser.
The deadline for submitting name suggestions is fast approaching, with October 3, 2025, being the final date for submissions. The submitted suggestions should be creative, funny, interesting, and diverse. The selection process for the name will be internal, and the winner will be selected based on the best suggestion. The winner will be rewarded with a small prize at the opening.
