CoMoUK Expands Mobility Hubs to Ayrshire, Stirling, and Glasgow After Edinburgh Success

CoMoUK's mobility hub in Edinburgh has concluded, but the organisation is expanding its reach with plans for four more pop-up hubs in Ayrshire, Stirling, and Glasgow. The hubs aim to promote active travel and reduce car usage, following the success of the Edinburgh trial.

The Edinburgh hub, situated on Pennywell Road from late July to mid-September, served as a base for activities encouraging walking, wheeling, and cycling for local journeys. Laura Wright, Scotland director at CoMoUK, praised the hub's success in reducing car usage and gaining positive reception from the local community.

After Edinburgh, the hub has been relocated to Hawick in the Scottish Borders, where it will operate until mid-November. CoMoUK has not yet disclosed who will install the four additional pop-up mobility hubs in Scotland.

Following the successful trial in Edinburgh, CoMoUK is set to expand its mobility hub initiative with four more pop-up hubs in Ayrshire, Stirling, and Glasgow. The hubs aim to continue promoting active travel and reducing car usage, with positive community reception indicating a demand for permanent mobility hubs.
