50+ Rare Classic and Retro Car Collection to be Sold by Worcestershire Specialist
A remarkable collection of over 50 rare classic and retro cars, spanning brands such as Ford, Opel, BMW, and more, is set to be sold by a specialist in Worcestershire. Amassed over 30 years by a dedicated enthusiast, this collection has been carefully curated and meticulously maintained, offering a unique opportunity for car collectors.
The cars, stored in bespoke, temperature-controlled buildings on the West Coast of Ireland, have undergone major in-house servicing by an expert mechanic. Each car has received paint correction and detailing, ensuring they are turn-key ready to drive, having been exercised regularly.
The collection is described as an "exciting everyman" collection, reflecting both variety and high quality. Authenticity and meticulous maintenance have been emphasized, ensuring the cars remain as close to factory-original as possible. Unlike many classic car collections that gather dust, these cars are not just stored but actively maintained to be immediately enjoyable.
The owner, an exacting and dedicated enthusiast, spent 30 years gathering and restoring the collection. The cars were selected or restored to the best possible condition, reflecting a passion for quality and authenticity.
The BMW portion of the collection houses a brace of E21 3-Series, an E12 5-Series, a 2002 Tii with original, restored fuel injection system, an E46 M3, an Alpina B3 3.3 Coupe, a low-mileage E93 Convertible, a Z4 Coupe, a Z4 Roadster, an E28 5 Series, and several E30s.
The collection also includes an Alfa Romeo Spider S2, a Honda S2000 GT with hardtop, various Rover and MGs, a 50,000-mile Nissan 350Z Coupe in manual GT spec, an excellent Mercedes W123 230E, and a 21,000-mile Toyota Celica 1.8 ST Coupe.
A 12,000-mile Mini City and a Mini Clubman are part of the diverse collection, along with various Manta As, a Kadett Coupe 1.2 S, a 1.6 SR, a Monza 3.0 E, a Olympia Coupe, and several other Opel models.
Some cars from the collection will be offered for sale from August, with a select few likely to be headed to the NEC for auction in November. Notable picks include a Ford Cortina Mk3 Olympic Edition, one of 500 cars produced in June/July 1976 to celebrate the Olympics, and a Manta B Silver II.
Another stand-out pick is the 1986 BMW E30 325i Hartge, ordered with Hartge upgrades and featuring Malachite Green exterior and matching interior. A Manta B2 GTE Exclusive, showing only 14,278 miles and featuring its original wheels and tyres, is another highlight.
The collection primarily consists of cars from Opel, Ford, and Toyota brands. Sales will be handled by Will and Alex of Vantage Classic & Sports, who have 20 years' experience in the classic and sports car sector, with 10 of those spent at a classic car auction house.
This sale represents a rare opportunity to acquire a carefully curated, meticulously maintained collection offered by long-time specialists in the Worcestershire region.
The diverse collection includes retro cars like BMW E21 3-Series and Opel Manta As, aligning with the owner's lifestyle of home-and-garden, and cars, demonstrating an appreciation for both quality and authenticity. Car collectors can make a unique purchase from this collection, as the cars are not merely stored but actively maintained for immediate enjoyment.
