In the heart of Yakutsk, the capital city of Russia's Sakha Republic, a celebration took place to honour the winners of the 'Green Cup of the Capital' greening contest. The event, held in Victory Park, was attended by the Mayor of Yakutsk, Yevgeny Grigoryev, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Yakutsk City Duma, Yevdokia Yevsikova, who announced the winners in four categories: 'Blooming Longevity', 'Color of Knowledge', 'Blossoming Garden', and 'Eco-Leader'.

The 'Palace of Children's Creativity named after Fatia Innokentyevna Avdeyeva' was the winner in the 'Color of Knowledge' category, while the 'Center for Child Development - Kindergarten No. 10 'Tullukchaan'' triumphed in the 'Blossoming Garden' category. The name of the winner in the 'Eco-Leader' category, however, remains undisclosed at the time of writing.

A significant contribution to the beautification of Yakutsk was made by the participants, who planted 100 saplings of various trees, including birch, acacia, pine, and poplar. The city also underwent some greening, with dead trees being replaced and new areas being made verdant.

The ceremony brought together representatives of authorities, public organisations, labour collectives, and citizens, all united in their commitment to making Yakutsk a greener and more beautiful city. Among the winners and prize-winners, the Parish of Christ-Sun of Truth of the Roman Catholic Church was also honoured for its efforts in the 'Eco-Leader' category.

This event serves as a testament to the collective efforts of Yakutsk's residents in promoting environmental awareness and preserving the city's natural beauty. As the city continues to grow, it is clear that such initiatives will play an essential role in maintaining its vibrant and inviting atmosphere.
