Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 2009 with a mission to provide bullet and stab protective vests, along with other support, to law enforcement and related agency K9 dogs across the United States. Since its inception, the organization has donated over 6,200 vests, collectively valued at millions of dollars, serving all 50 states.
The protective vests, weighing approximately 4-5 pounds, come with a five-year warranty. Each vest's donation cost is around $950, with retail values between about $1,744 and $2,283. The donation program allows private individuals or organizations to sponsor a vest, often with special sentiments embroidered on them.
The vest for K9 Ny is expected to arrive in Peru within 10 weeks. This donation will help protect K9 Ny, and by extension, the community he serves, as he continues his duty of keeping the peace.
