Lotus Blooms Enchant Kuban's Summer Landscape

The lotus buds have become a captivating sight in the wetlands of Primorsko-Akhtarsky, Anapsky, Slaviansky, Temryuksky districts, and Krasnodar, Kuban, Russia. These exotic flowers have been drawing tourists from all over the country since they started blooming in June.

One of the popular guides taking visitors to the lotus sanctuary zone is Oleg Biryukov, who offers guided tours in Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Biryukov, an expert on Indian lotuses, shares his knowledge with travelers and answers their questions about these fascinating flowers.

The lotus, revered since ancient times for its symbolism of purity and spiritual enlightenment, offers a mesmerising spectacle in Kuban. Each flower blooms for only four days, but as some wilt, others bloom, allowing the beauty to be admired until September.

The lotus plants start growing in June, with their leaves rising and floating on the water, followed by the growth of the stem, which turns into a lily pad or a bud. The lotus plantations can only be reached by boat, adding an extra layer of adventure to the experience.

However, it is forbidden and pointless to pick lotus flowers, as they wilt quickly. Picking them results in a fine. Instead, enjoying the lotus flowers in person is encouraged, and many tourists have testified to the awe-inspiring experience.

Nina Razhivina, a tourist from Kislovodsk, shared her experience, saying, "Seeing the lotus buds in person is amazing, and the place is very beautiful." The Razhivin family from the Stavropol region also visited Kuban to see the exotic lotus flowers.

In addition to the botanical gardens and nature reserves, lotus flowers have also been spotted blooming on the embankment of the central beach in Kanevskaya stanitsa. The lotus is considered a sacred flower in many cultures, and its presence in Kuban adds a mystical charm to the region.

This summer, if you find yourself in Kuban, do not miss the opportunity to witness the enchanting lotus blooms. They are a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
