Autumn festivals in Völklingen featuring traditional yearly marketplace events
Curt on up, folks! Mark your calendars from September 16 to 19, and get ready for a blast with the Volklingen Fall Fest around the New Town Hall. This ain't no kiddie party either; there's a smorgasbord of rides for all ages, game booths, and mouthwatering bites to keep your ol' belly happy. On Tuesday, the 19th, they're teaming up with the locals for "Family Day," offering discounted attractions for one heck of a bargain.
Top off your Saturday on the 16th with the "Kirwehannes" festivities. The Mayor, Christiane Blatt, and Local Councilor, Stephan Tautz, will be tapping the barrel and jamming to an awesome soundtrack starting at 5 PM on the Town Hall Square.
This year, the Fall Fest is spreading across the Otto-Hemmer-Platz, the Town Hall Square, and all the way to the Hindenburgplatz.
Now, for souvenirs and more, there's a jamboree of traders setting up shop on Family Day, from 8 AM to 6 PM. They've got everything you need, from textiles and household items to gifts, care products, spices, honey, leather goods, jewelry, and steelware. You can find 'em on the Adolph-Kolping-Platz, the City Promenade, the parish garden, and the Forbacher Passage.
But hey, don't just take my word for it. Check out local event calendars or hit up the Volklingen event organisers for the latest scoop on the Fall Fair. Or, if you fancy something different, you can check out the Frontiers Rock Festival in Trezzo sull'Adda, Italy (April 25-27, 2025), the Spring Festival in Schloss Wiepersdorf, Germany (May 25, 2025), or the Wednesday 13 European & UK Tour in fall 2025 - all great alternatives!
During your visit to the Volklingen Fall Fest from September 16 to 19, don't forget to explore the home-and-garden section and shop for unique souvenirs and items for your lifestyle on Family Day, which takes place on Tuesday, the 19th. You can find a variety of textiles, household items, gifts, care products, spices, honey, leather goods, jewelry, and steelware at various locations including Otto-Hemmer-Platz, the City Promenade, the parish garden, and the Forbacher Passage.
